Welcome back! 👋
Today, we’re kicking off our first persona deep dive from our group of four. You can find all previous blog here, in case you've missed those.
The fact-seekers: designed for the transparency seekers and detail lovers among us
Let’s be honest: in a world full of hype, fact-seekers are the ones reading the fine print. They’re the shoppers who want receipts, not just promises. If you’re a brand trying to win them over, you’d better come correct with the facts, and be able to prove them.
Who are they?
- Mostly Millennials, Gen Z, and Gen X ; aka the generations who grew up with Google and don’t trust marketing fluff
- They want to know exactly what’s in their products, where it came from, and how it was made
- They’re skeptical but open-minded, if you’re real with them, they’ll listen
How to win them over:
- Radical transparency: Show your work. List ingredient sources, explain your process, and don’t be afraid to admit when something isn’t perfect
- Science-backed claims: Partner with legit institutions and show the receipts for your health or sustainability claims
- Clear, honest pricing: If your product costs more, explain why. People appreciate honesty
- Share your journey: Let them in on how your product was developed. The more open you are, the more they’ll trust you
Design moves that work:
- Earthy tones, chalky finishes, and subtle blues or copper accents. Think “natural, but make it chic”
- Bio-based materials and coatings that feel as good as they look
- Matte or soft-touch finishes that say “premium” without screaming for attention
For fact-seekers, authenticity isn’t a trend: it’s a non-negotiable. Brands that get this right will earn their loyalty (and probably a few shares on their group chats).
